Best Wishes to Garda Paul Tierney.

Garda Paul Tierney who served at Roxboro Road (Limerick), Cobh & Glanmire Stations is currently on a career-break from the force. The former Cork GAA Hurling Star is now living in the town of Ambleside in the English Lake District – which is regarded as the hub for the TRAIL and FELL RUNNING scene.

Next Friday morning, Paul Tierney sets out with the aim to beat Steve Birkinshaw’s record setting for the 520 Kilometres, 214 Peaks over 6 days.

Paul’s parents, Retired Detective Garda Michael Tierney, accompanied by his wife Dympna are travelling over to the Lake District on Tuesday to give support and motivation which is so important to their son.

This record attempt will begin with a single-step at 8.00 am on Friday .
