2% Pension Increase – October 2020

Following querying the Garda Pension Section (PSSC) in Killarney, the NSSO (National Shared Services Office) have stated this morning – 1st October 2020 – that it is awaiting instruction from the Department of Justice on the uprated pay scales to be applied on the payroll system to implement the 2% increase from 1 October.

“The NSSO is awaiting instruction from the Department of Justice on the uprated pay scales to be applied on the payroll system to implement the 2% increase from 1 October.

The Department of Justice have advised that due to the complexity of FEMPI adjustments significant work is required to calculate the uprated pension scales, have these approved by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and uploaded to the payroll system. However, the process is well in hand and they will inform the NSSO as soon as the uprated scales are available for application on the payroll system.

We will inform you once instruction has been received by the NSSO and when the increases will be applied so that you can update your members accordingly.”
