Vauxhall Victor Squad Car – 1970s.

A Garda Historical Vehicle Group are involved in a project to restore an old Vauxhall Victor 2.3L  Squad Car (Reg. No. 745-AZA) that was in use around the mid 1970s. The car in question was an automatic model. It is hoped when the work is completed that the car might be available for (i) Station Open Days;  (ii) Garda Community Events;  (iii) Display at Motoring Events etc.

The Garda Historical Group have two black & white photographs of two other Vauxhall Patrol Cars.  The photographs below were taken around 1975.  It appears the patrol car driver & observer were from the “B” District.

Sincere thanks to all who assisted in identify the  gardai.

Was the Vauxhall not 3,300 cc or was that the Ventora?

Barry Worral and Pat King were in Traffic together around then. Might get more info from the Traffic office as they have a great collection of photographs of all their old vehicles.
