 Assist the Manager in the delivery of Amen’s support services

  • Deal with clients on the helpline
  • Meet with clients on a one to one basis
  • Accompany clients to courts
  • Facilitate the outreach clinics
  • Run support group meetings if necessary
  • Ensure that Amen Support Services Limited’s guidelines, procedures and policies are adhered to
  • Maintain knowledge & skillset through continuous professional development seeking out additional training where necessary.
  • Raise awareness of the issues, needs and services available to male victims of domestic abuse and their children
  • Ensure service complies with Children’s First Guidelines
  • Provide reports and other data as required
  • Such other reasonable requests as the role from time to time requires.
  • Prepare Meitheal references as required and liaise with Manager to ensure they are followed up with HSE. Other tasks or duties compatible with the role
  • Support local groups and agencies to deal with issues of domestic abuse within their work programmes
  • Assist in the development of structures to enable Amen to provide a wide range of services and supports to meet the needs of men and children including individual and peer supports
  • Any other duties or tasks as required by the Manager or National Executive Committee which are compatible with the aims and objectives of the organisation.

Reporting to the Manager the Support / Outreach Worker will provide supports, including information and referrals to men who contact Amen for assistance. A good knowledge and understanding of issues facing male victims of domestic abuse and men’s issues generally would be desirable attributes for this position.  S/he will help to develop administrative structures, initiate and progress training and information programmes, ensuring compliance with statutory and organisational requirements. The Support Worker must be capable of forming and maintaining key relationships with staff, other agencies and clients


 4 years plus experience dealing directly with victims of domestic abuse

  • High level of literacy, ability to write reports
  • High level of personal integrity
