Martin Frawley writing in the Sunday Times, 14th June States : “Most of the country’s 140,000 Public Service Pensioners are set for a rise of €900 over the next two years, after a side deal to last month’s Lansdowne Road Agreement on Public Sector Pay, according to Impact Trade Union. The deal which is expected to be approved by Government shortly, is expected to cost up to €100m. The main agreement, which gives an average pay increase of €2000 over 3 years to serving public servants, will cost €566m the Government has estimated.
The Alliance of Retired Public Servants are holding a meeting on Thursday next (18th June) to discuss the latest developments. The Garda Siochana Retired Members’ Association (GSRMA) will be represented at the ALLIANCE MEETING by Paschal Feeeney, Gerneral Sec. GSRMA and Noel E. O’ Sullivan (Central Committee Rep.).
