Public Service Pensions Act

It appears a special case is made for ex TDs and Senators who get re-elected in the Public Service Pensions Act, 2012.

The pension for new entrants and those returning to work in the Public Service after 6 months or longer will be calculated on their average career earnings. However, former TDs & Senators who return to the Oireactas, either by election or nomination will have their pension for any future service in the Dail or Seanad based on their final salaries as applied to serving Public Servants.
