Let’s join the Cycle team in memory of Garda Tony Golden-21st & 22nd September

A fundraising cycle in memory of murdered Garda Tony Golden has been organised by his former colleagues for this September.

The father of three, who lived in Blackrock, Co. Louth, was shot dead while attending a call to a house in Omeath last October.

In his memory a 250 km cycle from Blackrock to his native Ballina in Mayo via Drumshanbo has been organised to take place on September 21st and 22nd with all proceeds going towards the Garda Tony Golden Memorial Fund set up exclusively for the benefit of his 3 young children.

Sixty cyclists are taking part, including Garda members from Dundalk, Ballina and the Garda cycling club, as well as Tony’s brothers (Dave, Ken and Seán) with all participants covering their own expenses.
