Silver Surfer Awards 2018

Silver Surfer Awards 2018 – Don’t Delay, Nominate Someone Today!

Age Action together with sponsor open eir have begun the search for Ireland’s top Silver Surfers. The awards celebrate and showcase older peoples’ use of the internet and technology as well as the volunteers who teach these skills.  We would be delighted if you would bring this to the attention of your members.

The awards will be presented by Brendan Courtney, TV presenter, broadcaster & fashion designer on Tuesday 28 March at The eir Building, 1 Heuston South Quarter, St. John’s Road, Dublin 8.

The closing date for accepting nominations is Wednesday 21st February.  Full details of the categories and how to nominate are available on our website or by contacting Anne-Marie Walsh on 01 4756989.

Last year we had a winner from Wexford GSRMA Branch John Hayes “Golden IT Award winner and retired Wexford Garda John Hayes left school at 13 years old to help on the family farm but his determination to succeed drove him to teach himself to read and write at the age of 20 so he could join the Gardaí and serve his local community. Showing he’s still unafraid to learn he has embraced everything the internet has to offer, Skyping his siblings in America, using Facebook to keep in touch with nieces and nephews around the world and playing bridge online with friends and strangers alike from the comfort of his own home”

Why not nominate someone this year.
